There have been 20 or so, magnitude 5 or higher aftershocks, hampering the rescue efforts.

a 7.7 (latest number I saw) is HUGH. just gigantic!

but these people are dead mostly because they are poor and their houses are not made to survive an earthquake.

everytime i hear about this kind of disaster i know if i was there - and not in Los Angeles when that one hit - I'd be dead. plain and simple.
the no CARB diet- no Cheney, Ashcroft, Rumsfeld or Bush.

Indeed. I have many friends with family in the affected region. Several have confirmed that their families are all accounted for but others are still waiting. I can't imagine the depth of anguish they are feeling right now :-(

There is a conspiracy theory / rumor about a secret giant  "Earthquake Machine/Technology" from US Oil Companies / Pentagon.
The rumor started after the powerful earthquakes in Asia (1 day after Christmas and 1 day after Easter). There was an earthquake on the same area on July 5, 2005.

http://ior.rml.co.uk/issue9/articles/RML/

Some Arabic TV Stations, local newspaper in several countries said that the secret machine/technology is used for killing Osama Bin Laden and his followers.

From AP:
No evidence suggests that the deadly earthquake that rocked Pakistan on Saturday injured or killed the world's top terror leader, Osama bin Laden.
The quake shook the border region of Afghanistan and Pakistan, where bin Laden is believed to be hiding. However, authorities at this point have no information indicating he's been injured or killed, said a U.S. official who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the information's sensitivity.
