ibrowse and external image viewer
« on: October 08, 2005, 10:24:28 PM »
hi all.
Have little problem: After changing all datatypes in my system from 68k to WOS, i want some speedup my ibrowse. Well, i want to use my wos datatypes, and set in ibrowse prefs external image viewer in on for jpg, png, etc.

So, try to load image and can't. But datatypes is work (have jpg background and picshow works). SnoopDos said ok on warpdtjpeg datatype is open, and try to GetVar Classes/Datatypes/Picture/DitherHiColor. But i haven't it, and i think problem is it .. So, what is it and what i need to install ?:)

If I'm not mistaken it uses the WarpDT datatypes if you just choose plain INTERNAL in Ibrowse.
If I'm wrong can someone please correct me.
My PPC A4000 is much faster on loading images in Ibrowse compared to my '060 A4000.

nope . . . IB uses its internal decoders or the external as datatypes.

Your CSPPC has a faster ram access compared to the CSMK2.

Ouch so how do I set IB to use the WarpDT datatypes?
Can't believe I've been using slow decoders now for some time  :boohoo:

using PPC datatypes for images decoding, doesn't help too much (due context switches).

Anyway if you wanna try, goto:

Preferences>HTML(double-click)>Images and set it to External.

You will lose JPEG progressive rendering and animated GIFs . . . as DT doesn't support it :-(

WarpGIF-DT *does* support animated GIFs (see PicShow). It's IBrowse who doesn't support it.

Bye,

can you see JPG and PNG with Multiview?

Otherwise the WarpDT aren't installed correctly.

Check in Classes/Datatypes to DON'T have double DT installed

i.e WarpPNG.datatype and png.datatype and so.

Check the descriptors also in Devs:Datatypes.

Have you used the installer?

yes, multiview work, picshow work too.

Look at this, maybe you can found some stranges in my datatypes:

And, i try not use any kind of installers for system, only by hands, becouse i will know what i am copy, etc. But, i look in installer script now, here is now any strange features, only copy to devs:datatypes and to classes:datatyps.

But anyway, i tryed install warpdt by install script now, the same result. Snoopdos halt on:

15    IBrowseNetwork     GetVar     classes/datatypes/picture/DitherHiColour     Any    Fail
