My 1200 locks and reboots but it's something simple
« on: October 07, 2005, 02:52:22 AM »

Something to do with my floppy or keyboard area causes my a1200 to reboot. When I press on it occasionally it locks and reboots.  I remember having this problem with my old a1200 in the 90s also. I can't remember how I fixed it but I think it has something to do with shielding hitting something...

Anyone know what this common problem is related to? Removing the cover and setting the floppy off to the side fixes the problem....

@vic20owner:

If you have an accelerator, check that the folded part of the metal shielding right over the trapdoor-connector doesn't short the accelerator in some way. The keyboard rests lightly on the metal shielding and could press it down a bit depending on how hard you press on the keyboard.
