Last Chance for FF/SD swap...
« on: October 05, 2005, 11:43:27 PM »
I said in a previous post that I was going to try the hefty hacking to get the Scan Magic I got from Eyetech (Last one they had) on thursday if no one wanted to trade for an A4000T compliant SD/FF.

Since there was only one response (TANKZ anyway doctorq), I thought I'd make a new post JUST to be on the safe side and extend the time to Friday.  SO!  If I get no replies by Sat. morning, I'm going to have to snip some jumpers in the A4000T and dremmel away a whole side of the the Scan Magic. :-o

Remember, this is BRAND NEW!!!!

Well, whatcha lookin for?
- Doc

A4000D, A3640 OC-36.3MHz, custom tower, Mediator A4000D. Diamond Banshee 16M, Indivision AGA 4000, GVP HC+8.

Mac Mini 1.5GHz, that might run MorphOS someday, when the fools who own it come to the realization that 30 minutes just isn\'t enough time to play with it enough to decide whether or not you like it enough to cough up $200.

 - Someone please design SOME kind of DIY accelerator for the A4000. :D -

I have an Impact Vision 24 that has a built-in SD/FF. Unfortunately it's only a 12-bit scandoubler and it doesn't handle all screenmodes (doesn't handle VGAOnly at all, even with the scandoubler switch set to the off position which theoretically should just pass through the signal to the HD-15 connector). Not sure if it's of any interest to you.

I'm kind of loathe to part with it since I was hoping to take some RGB screengrabs from some game consoles with it, but I don't have the RGB input module so it seems unlikely I'll ever use it for that so I might be willing to trade.

I'm not sure I understand why you need to "hack" this scandoubler to get it to work.

It physically doesn't fit into the space where the Alice and Lisa are located.

1) the main board of the FF over-laps the Floppy controller riser board

2) opposite of that there is a three pronged jumper to set NTSC and PAL for the A400T

So, I need to shave off the overlapping part of the FF and snip the jumper flush w/ the MoBo (solder the connection) to get it to MAYBE fit.  No Garuntees that it'll fit after that either as I have no fine measuring tools...
