I really like Pegasos it seems like a solid system that delivers.

It feels like a positive system and the community feels very positive.

I would definitely get a Pegasos today if I wanted an Amiga like system. It is relatively cheap, runs many apps and is a compact silent system.

@Phill

A few months ago I bought an ODW, which is basicly a Pegasos 2.

The hardware compared to classic Amiga is very fast and also relativly cheap. MorphOS is very responsive and much, much faster then the fastest classic and very compatible to older software. Some software I tried needed a small modification when installing, but everything run.

It is a pity that MorphOS still lacks some  functionality 'out of the box'.

It does sound like it is the way forward for Amiga hardware/software..

Do the orignal games work on the system ok?  I guess they should if the orignal OS works with them... Am I right?

What new games has the Amiga got coming out for it?  Where might I find that out?

What you mean with original games? You have to know that MorphOS is not an UAE and all software that requieres AGA or any special amiga hardware wont work of course.

Here a small list what runs on Pegasos:
Shogo, Wipeout2097, Heretic1+2, Quake1+2+3, Payback, Earth2140, FeebleFiles, Freespace, Knights&Merchants,...

I saw a few bargins for graphics cards on Ebay ( ATI's 9500 pro for example) for £30 which isnt too bad.. I was curious as to whether or not it could be used in the Pegasos system that was all.. I figured for gaming it would be a lot better than the 9250 model..

The Radeon 9250 is the highest card that will run with MorphOS for now. You can choose between Voodoo3, Voodoo4, Voodoo5 or Radeon 7x00 till 9250. There are also some old SiS and Permedia2 cards supported.

So basically its 'useless' for like The Settlers, Skidmarks, Banshee etc then?

That is ok... I'm just finding out all this now rather than going out and buying it and asking why its not all working!! ;)

Many thanks :)

Will later model graphics cards be working at some point?

Well, you can run UAE on MorphOS for the old games of course. ;-)

Depends if they are compatible with the AGP 2.0 Port in Pegasos.

Yes, I understand that. I also still have my A1200 beside my Pegasos here.

countzero .. OK. You have fair points there. And yes.. the MorphOS development have had it's share of problems, but I tend to consider situation quite positive at the moment. There's no large financial backing at the moment (as on 2002-2003) but it's definitely been moving forward.

IMHO. that Altivec support would be nice.. But If I had to choose I'll much prefer nice Web browser and Netstack.

(and no.. I don't have Pega at the moment)
