Bwhoahh ! TotalAmiga !! (I'm clubbed ;)
« on: March 25, 2003, 05:41:36 PM »
I dunno if this is the current issue as I'm a new subscriber, but I just received the "Spring 2003" issue in the mail this morning.

Mind you, the website does not seem to be updated.

At 1st I was afraid readind "spring 2002" in the contents collumn, but no, cool, it's just a *major* typo :-D

Once again, it RULES ! Guys, I don't know how they manage to put this together each time, this is so sleek and professional (apart from the typo, no, I'm kidding, this is perfick) !

Back in the days, in france, there was a Mag, Amiga News that is, that was my favorite amongst the 4 offerings (I more often then not ended up buying them all:) that was made on Amigas, when the 3 others were laid out using Macs.

They used Pro-page until the end, when they collapsed, somewhere around 1998 if I recall. GolDisk, makers of PPAge, had went belly-up for years.

What I recall is that despite a very good editorial quality, the journal looked like a tacky high-school newsletter :) Not down to PPage, though  :-P

When I *knew* that using good tools, like the incredible PStream 4.x, you could build a good mag, providing you have the good writer team, and a good spirit.

Man, this mag is great. I really wish OS 4.0 machines Take up and that they become professionally distributed. As for the production, they don't need *any* help.

50 pages of amiga glory !

I only need a seat and a cat on my lap.

Here's to *all* the S.E.A.L. team !

/away  :-D

Yes, the "spring 2003" issue is the current one. In fact it has been delayed a bit, so it's the first issue this year.

Total Amiga is very good indeed, and the editorial team as well as the contributors put a lot of effort into producing the mag. Seeing that the whole operation is non-profit, and any proceeds are plowed back into improving the quality of the mag, I can heartily recommend it.

Older editions in pdf format are available from the Total Amiga site. If any back issue is not available as a pdf it means there are still hard copies available for sale through the web page.

Yes, Total Amiga is a great read with 'something for everybody', covering AmigaOS and Morphos.

Just needs a little change to make it perfect - it should be 150+ pages and come out weekly :)

@ Ami603
If you suscribed on Friday I would think your magazine was posted some time Saturday and should have arrived by now. Did you sub via our website or did you put the order through either Forematt Home Computing or Kicksoft as they may have taken an extra day to get through to us.

If you do not receive it soon please mail myself or directly to editor@totalamiga.org

Orders from outside the UK take a bit longer to process because I have to go to the post office to get the right postage. I would hope you should get your copy in the next few days.

BTW thanks to everyone for the kind comments about the magazine in this thread :)
