Hey all point 'n' click fans!
« on: September 01, 2005, 10:49:03 PM »
Something that might be of interest to you...
I was very pleased, as a long-term Amiga diehard to discover that the Licenseware game I devoted two years of my life to making has resurfaced in various places on the net.
I wrote the game 12 years ago, when I was just 16 (18 by the time it was finished) ... so if the script is a little adolescent, forgive me!)

Keith's Quest - 1995 - Handmade Games
By Jasper Byrne

It's a Monkey-Island style game-system, with a world almost as large as some  of Lucasarts games.  Sadly, when it finally released in '95, F1 Licesnseware was on it's way to going bust, as was the Amiga software business altogether (admit it!)
I'd love to know if anybody would actually play it now, and what people think of my effort.  It gives me real pleasure to know it has been preserved on the internet, and believe me it was a real trip down memory lane to play it again myself on UAE.
As for where to find it, a Google should do it...
If anyone plays it please email me with your opinion on sonicspacerec@hotmail.com.  That would make my day.
I'd even be prepeared to email it if you have trouble tracking it down.

...Thanks for keeping the Amiga alive!

Jasper Byrne :-D

Hi,

Keith's Quest appears to have been here at some point, but the link no longer works :-( and I can't find it anywhere else (other than simple mentions of it). I'll have a rummage through my ADF collection and see if I can find it...

Regards,

@Coolit: thanks, just grabbed it... Horrible colour scheme if you boot to Workbench from that disk, even worse than the 1.3 defaults!  :-D

@Sonic: looks good if the demo is anything to go by. If you own the (c) to the full game, have you considered submitting it to Back To The Roots or somewhere similar?

P.S. Sonic, your name reminded me of Aegis Sonix... Have just been playing with that again for the first time in many many years!

Hi everyone, thanks for taking an interest...  It makes me very happy, and all that time and effort making it now seems worthwhile!

So if I'm interested in allowing someone like BTTR to host it, how do I go about it?

Thanks,
Sonic

I'm guessing you could contact them using THIS Page, I dont know if software authors can contact them in another way.

Hi there!
First of all i think Im the fan n1 of adventure games... dont matter lol.
It's with satisfaction that I read this post from Sonic, without any commercial or other interest - Just proud to see his work alive. Imagine the workbench/amigaOS/Rom creators doing the same.
