Really nice A2000 4 sale....
« on: August 14, 2005, 01:09:48 AM »
I know most here already have a killer machine but, just to say "Thank You" to all those that have helped me on this forum, here it is on Ebay. Not trying to be arrogant, but I have managed to collect 2 A500's and, just by a stroke of luck, this really nice A2000 that I'm selling. I had a lot of fun "upgrading" the A2000 with a new HDD, RAM and a CD Burner. Not to mention swapping Kickstart ROMs between the 3 machines to get just the system I wanted to keep. The one I'm keeping is the Rev 6 A500. It too, was pristine when I recieved it but, if anyone remembers :roll, had all kinds of problems with the classic software I was running because of the 2.1 Kickstart ROM. After swapping the KS 2.1 into the A2000 (which of course is desirable), that cleared the way for the upgrades. And after swapping the 1.3 ROM into the A500, that fixed things too! So, I'm happy! Thanks to all here and I'm looking forward to more Amiga fun!

Indeed. That's a bit much...

Titter ye not, well maybe just a little titter. I was the guy who bought it. I feel that was a good price. You have no idea how green with envy I was for my friend's A2000  back then, when I had my A500. I think my only victory was that Ultima4 wouldn't work on his machine but would on mine. Something to do with the memory as I recall. It was a small but important victory.

Anyway, thanks for selling it. Works fine and since someone very nicely gave me $300 for my TRS-80, I bought a nice monitor to complement it.

Now, to get Ultima 4 working....
