My favourite one, is a story my Dad told me. He used to work for Islington borough council years ago. And there was a window somewhere that kept getting smashed by vandals. So the  local government decided to replace it, and the rest of the windows in this council building, with polycarbonate ones.
So one day, a kid comes along, throws half a brick at the window that was always getting smashed and.....guess what?
It bounced back and hit him on the head, causing relatively minor injuries. You probably already have an inkling what's coming next.....His mother tried to sue the local council, because of what happened to her son. The judge threw it out of court, but that was the 80s...these days she'd probably win....which neatly brings us to why we have all these inane warnings...!!!

It's almost funny because it's so true, like the American woman who sued a department store because she was knocked over by an unruly child running amok and injured herself.

She was also the mother of the crazed bratfink...

If any sane person were the judge they'd have made her pay court costs and attend parenting classes, unfortunately the message sent out is that it's okay to rescind one's responsibilities because you can sue someone else for your own failings anyway.

That's so bizarre as to be considered an unbelievable urban legon, Except in today/s world of no personal responsibility, its details are probably documented somewhere on the link below, along with this bizarre lawsuit.........

October 20 1999-- The art of blame.  A three-year-old is left unattended and forgotten in a van in 95-degree heat, and the van's interior grows hotter and hotter until hours later he dies of hyperthermia.  Who deserves the blame?  You may be a suitable candidate for practicing law if you guess the Ford Motor Co., for not designing and installing systems that would cool the air in parked cars with the engine off.  (Ben Schmitt, "Suit Demands Ford Add Safety Device to Cool Cars", Fulton County Daily Report, Oct. 4).

Many Many other examples of lack of personal responsibility

The woman suing VW because her drunk husband died whilst driving one takes the proverbial biscuit.  It makes me want to walk up to her, sit her down, place both my hands gently on her shoulders and yell "HE WAS DRUNK DRIVING YOU SILLY BINT!".

The law should make special provision for the arrogant and stupid.

Unfortunately it doesn't say on what grounds are they suing?

Some Guesses:
VW failed to provide an autopilot for drunk drivers?.
VW failed to provide anti-drunk device to check for sobriety before allowing the engine to start.
Defective design did not fully protect driver driving head on into walls at 100mph?
