However, as a teenager I was very interested in EVP. I had tape after tape full of off-station radio hiss and background noise but never did capture anything. Strangely enough, today my laptop started picking up distorted conversations at regular intervals (every few minutes.) Just loud enough to hear through the headphones and completely unaffected by the volume/mute controls. It hasn't manifested itself on any recordings I've made on the lappy either.
There is a radio taxi place just up the road, that's my best guess at to the source.
I love it when people insist that lens flare is some kind of "psychic orb", though. :-D
