Mikronik Infinitiv 1200 tower and A4000 keyboard

Is it possible?

During this week I'll receive one of this tower for my A1200 and I'd like to use an original Amiga keyobard.

Since I already own an A4000 keyboard, can I use it?

Don´t know for sure, depends on the keyboard controller. But you can use any other pc keyboard and certainly the old ones with Din plug  :lol:

Yes, that's sure... but a PC keyboard is not good on Amiga  :-D

Otherwise, excluding the Micronik controller, is it possible to put a PS/2 connector on 1200's motherboard to connect directly the 4000's keyboard?

I have a Micronik A1200 with Z2 busboard and the keyboard input thingy on that only accepts PC keyboards. And it doesn't even support multiple keypresses :\. I also have a kit for making the A1200 KB into a standalone PC keyboard, it has a PIC microcontroller onboard.

i had one of those. (Micronik kit that took the A1200 keyboard into a separate case)
it (the controller board) fried very quickly..

i got some other device that sat on top of the chip on the motherboard and use an old AT keyboard..

i have an A2000 keyboard here that i'd be happier using though..

Yes... but is it possibile to add a simple PS/2 connector to the 1200's mobo to link directly a standard external Amiga keyboard like the A4000's one?

The A4000's keyboard has its internal chip to control keys activities while the 1200 has it directly on the motherboard, so I don't know if it can create a conflict between them. But I'm pretty sure that we can find a way to solve this little issue!  :-D

I want try to explain me better: my idea is to exclude the Micronik keyboard controller and add a new one. And, I think, since I should use an original Amiga's keyboard, it'll not require a controller but a simple connector.
Now, the problem is: where do I have to solder the wires of PS/2 female plug?  :-D

I don't know if your idea would work, but I do know that I have a keyboard adaptor sitting here, aimed at A1200 computers for usage with an external keyboard (A2/3/4000 keyboards) and it has it's own controller chip on the board.

The board has a ribbon like the one going from the A1200 desktop keyboard and into the white socket. And it has connectors for LEDs aswell, so any tower LED would work with it :-)
