Installing an Apollo 2030 in an Amiga 2000
« on: June 19, 2005, 01:25:46 PM »
I Just installed an Apollo 2030 in my Amiga 2000 and all it does is give me a red screen.  I was wondering if I was doing something wrong? I appreciate any help.  Thanks

Hi,

Red screens usually mean there is a ROM problem.  Is there some sort of ROM-mapping feature enabled?  I don't know anything about this unit, but see if there is a jumper or something like that.  As well, is there an option to disable the card by holding down a key/button while it boots?  If so and it still gives you a red screen then I think there are larger issues.  Give it a shot.

Some of the early a2000 motherboards had no CPU disable functionality built into them, german models before V4.0 I believe

A simple check for this is to remove the motherboard 68000 CPU, check if it then boots.
Completely useless? I can always be used as a bad example
