You can try your Emergency Boot Disk if you have that around still.

Otherwise, you'll need to bypass the startup sequence which requires 15kHz.

The old rom update will be there in DEVS: but renamed.  Just delete the new one and rename the old.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

Had the same problem on my classic after BB2. I ended up replacing Devs:AmigaOS ROM Update & C:SetPatch with the ones in BB1. No boot problems after that.

To what extent can you not boot? Will the machine at least kick in the ROM update? If that's the case, hold down both mouse buttons to get to the Early Startup menu, as usual. The power light will flash very rapidly to indicate you're there. Hold down Ctrl + Alt + Del + Backspace and the bootmenu should switch to a 31KHz screen. Confirm DoublePAL/NTSC in the display menu, boot without a startup-sequence, and then you can rename your files from the mini-Shell.

Alternatively, add NOROMUPDATE to your Setpatch line in the startup-sequence.

Seeing that it is a 060 CPU, and most likely a Blizzard board, try just to skip the scsi.device udpate. It worked on my setup which was somewhat similar. The SetPatch line should look something like this

SetPatch SKIPROMMODULES "scsi.device" QUIET

Did you unpack the BB2 with LHA or Unarc?
Unarc has an bug in it that is fixed with BB2 so you have to use LHA(or perhaps some other) to get it right.  :-)

@Matt_H

What the heck are you talking about?   Pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL+BCKSPCE  Will NOT turn your boot menu into 31khz

Where did you get that idea?
CD32 is actually the best Amiga ever made by Commodore!...

@leirbag28

How about reading the docs every now and then?

Quote

When the boot menu is activated, you can use the keyboard combination CTRL-LALT-DEL-BACKSPACE (that is the CTRL key, the left ALT key, the DEL key and the BACKSPACE key pressed together) to switch into VGA mode. Your Amiga will continue to use this mode even when you exit the boot menu to boot your Amiga.

The above is taken from the ReadMe file of BoingBag2.

FYI

I had this issue today.

After installing BB1 I installed BB2 without a hitch. I selected to install the ROM update.

After a cold start it would do the first setpatch reset but then nothing, just a black screen. I could boot without startup sequence and get into Workbench via the loadwb command at the shell prompt.

I tried to disable the ROM updates and all that but this things a bastard :( So I renamed the Amiga OS ROM Update file in DEVS: and renamed the old one to the correct filename, rebooted, all is now back on :)

This is the only thread I could find on the internet about this issue, I hope that it helps someone else out too :)
