Mine will only appear when I have a disk inserted from startup, then I just partition and format, works a treat.

Ooops, should have mentioned that mine is an external SCSI drive, but I can move it from machine to machine without any dramas. I don't see why the IDE drive wouldn't work, are you sure the drive isn't dead?

@Gav:

I have an IDE ZIP drive, it works nice here. No problems with disk changing and it is displayed in HDToolBox.

I see you are using PowerFlyer, I never tried ZIP drive with it, I only have 4xEIDE from Elbox, but ZIP is working with their driver.

Which AmigaOS do you have and how does yor ZIP mountlist look like? Maybe there is a problem...

My Zip drive is SCSI, also. For a couple of years I booted an A2000 from it. Even then I was not the fastest thing in the world, but it did the job reliably.

Well, I also have AmigaOs 3.9 + BoingBag 2 and there are files in SYS:Storage/DOSDrivers for ZIP drives.

The first is ZIP (and ZIP.info) for Amiga-formatted ZIP-disks and the second ZIC (and ZIC.info) for PC-formatted ZIP-disks.

You need to edit the tooltypes in .icon files to adjust the mountlist to your controller (for example, my ZIP drive is connected as Slave on the first IDE channel, so the DEVICE is scsi.device and UNIT is 1 in both .info files).

What you can do is also to edit the ZIC file and change the L:CrossDOSFileSystem to L:FAT95 (you can find FAT95 in the fat95.lha archive on Aminet). FAT95 allows you to see the long names on PC-formatted disks.

And the last thing to do: you should move all 4 files (ZIP, ZIC, ZIP.info, ZIC.info) from SYS:Storage/DOSDrivers to SYS:Devs/DOSDrivers so the ZIP drive is mounted on every system startup.

Ok now im thinking about this its starting to look like a waste of time really.I have been trying to get this zip drive working for over one year now and i know the drive works as i tried it on my pc.I have been in touch with elbox and they sent me the new version of the poweflyer software and well when i used that most of my partitions vanished until i replaced it with the previous version.So in the end not even elbox have a clue whats up with it and i aint wanting to use the drive to swap files from windows so elbox say it should be seen right away by trackdisk.device but it isnt.
Cheers
