WordWorth font probs
« on: March 08, 2003, 04:09:29 PM »
I'm trying to use TrueType fonts in WordWorth 4 SE.  I've got ttflib 0.8.5 installed, and the fonts I've nicked off my Windows box have been installed and are working fine with my other WP software, FinalCopy II, but WordWorth doesn't want to know about them.  I've tried installing/copying the fonts to the wwfonts/truetype dir, but no difference.

I found a progam in the wwtools (sp?) directory that says it finds and sets up fonts, and it read off the proper names of the fonts I had installed/copied to the wwfonts/truetype dir, but when I'm in WordWorth it still shows the same list of 4 default fonts that come with WW.

In the Wordworth settings you can choose which types of fonts should be shown in the fonts menu. Enable Truetype there.

I'm not sure but I believe that the "SE" version cannot use truetype fonts (is there a digitatruetype.library in your Libs: drawer ?) In this case you have to install the TTFs as Workbench fonts (using ttf.library or similar) and then start this WW fonts tool to add your Workbench fonts to WW again.

Bye,
Thomas

Hurrah! a reply! :-)

I installed the TT fonts to the workbench donts dir using the truetype manager software, but they still don't appear in WordWorth.

The digita font libraries in LIBS: I've got are 'digitafont.library' and 'digitaintellifont.library'.  If WW4 SE can't read TT fonts then why does it have a TrueType fonts folder in wwfonts dir?  or was that just to annoy the natives?

Because WW4 (non-SE) can use TTFs and WW4 SE is a stripped-down version of WW4.

Try to start the  WW fonts utility and point it to the Fonts: directory.

Thomas
