BlizzardPPC - resistor lost, blizzy dead.
« on: April 18, 2005, 11:47:16 AM »
a few days ago my blizzy refused to work. When I plugged it out and started revising it, one of the resisitors run away the board. It is the one that is located near the place for the scsi controller, just near the edge of the board. Could someone tell me what kind of resistor is it? I would like to replace it with new one. I will make a photo of it available ASAP. Thanx!
MacBook C2D 1.83/1.25GB/80GB/Combo
AMD Sempron 3400+  AM2 1800MHz->2400MHz/1GB/80GB/DVD-RW

no Amigas ...  :-(

the yellow/orange one?

It isn't a resistor but a Tantalium Low ESR capacitor.

I don't see resistors near the edge (from a pitcure)

Its not a resistor its capasitor , but the board must work ok also without it.
The probem occured before taking out the blizzard and when you tried to take it out you hit the capasitor in the shield, thats where you lost it...
Its common....

actually it could be a capacitor. I don`t know because when i taken the card out, it just slipped away and i could not find `em. i only remember that it had broken in two parts, as if it was fried  :-?

I had taken the card out after my ami refused to boot. And then it happened. Blizzy does not work without it!
