Shapeshifter with winuae
« on: April 09, 2005, 07:19:41 AM »
I am trying to get shapeshifter running.  I cannot get it to open in more than 256 colors because the P96 uae driver has no 15 bit or 24 bit screen modes which shapeshifter needs.  Any ideas anyone?

Not much help here.  But, why not run Basilisk II on Windows and avoid the double emulation?
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

Because we do not consider WinUAE as an emulation! When we use WinUAE, we usualy totaly forget that something is behind it and we do not care anyway... We do not care about double emulation, we have fast machines and we want to use AmigaOS, understood?
that's it 8-)

Huh ? The last time I looked Shashi works perfectly well with 8bit screens. In fact I have it running in 8bit on my A3000T CV64 for ages.
Not really interesting, but it`s there.

@glwxxx

No, I don't understand...  The OP doesn't want to use AmigaOS, he/she wants to use MacOS.  It doesn't matter how fast the machine is, Basilisk JIT will always be faster than running emulation on top of emulation.

Yeah... Basilisk II is stupid-fast on any semi-modern PC.  (Heck, I think it's faster than WinUAE!)  And, really, Basilisk II could be called ShapeShifter 4, anyhow.  I'd say it's the logical continuation of what to run.

I've never had any problems with it.  The only thing that sucks is there is even less Mac 680x0 software than Amiga 680x0 software, nowadays!  :-P
