Ordered a CS PPC
« on: April 07, 2005, 06:46:30 PM »
Just ordered a Cyberstotm PPC from Mr Hardware Computers but my deepest feeling says they're out of stock like 99% of the other amiga shops.
does anyone know if their list of stocked items is true or do they have softhut's standard  :-D
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Amiga 4000T - A3640 '040
Amiga 4000 - CS MKIII
Amiga 1200 - Blizzard 1230 MKIV
Amiga 1200 - Stock
Amiga CD32 - TF360
A bunch of ol' A500's

At the price they are it's a wonder anyone buys them, so hopefully they'll have one in stock for you :-D

No they don't have them, nobody has the CS PPC, or the MK-III.  I keep a close eye on those items, and the only way to get one is when a used one goes up for sale by the owner.  I really wish Softhut, Compuquick, and Mr. Hardware would update the items on their websites.  - Lars

Thanks for the info.
Will do my hunt on other places then, first of all I have to put one of my A4000's in a tower case (just ordered one from Elbox) because my A4000 with '060 is running very hot now with 3 zorro cards and the CS MKII.
My '040 40mhz A3000 runns cool as a breeze compared to my A4000 which is odd...I guess the titan cooler does it's job on the '040.

@AMIGAZ

Hopefully not their Mirage 4000 Pro tower? I'm glad I got rid of mine... Next to the MicroniK plastic towers, the Mirage 4000 Pro tower is the worst tower I have owned :-(

@doctorq:

Mirage 4000, while not the perfect of towers, is actually better than Mirage 1200 and 3000, believe it or not. :-)

It's not built like crap, but it's just that for the huge price that you paid you could have gotten a much better designed tower case, had Elbox bothered to put a little more effort into tracking down a more suitable AT/ATX case for conversion. The design is much more user friendly than the stock A4000D case, don't get me wrong, but there's tons of better cases that Elbox could have used which would be worth the purchase price more than Mirage 4000 is.

Could be, I'm not in a position to verify that, since I have never owned any of the other towers. I just know that I hated the Mirage 4000 Pro tower since the day I got it. I pulled the Mediator board and sold the tower.

I prefer my self-customized Chieftech Dragon tower much better; not that difficult a task to do :-) The only thing I need to get running is my black disk drive; it doesn't look like I'm going to succeed there :-(

You might have called them and asked before typing your credit card number into their web page... ;) As these things are so hard to find and sell so quickly when they're available (even at the rediculous high prices they go for), I'd be happily suprised if they have one to send you. Took me forever to find one for sale when I finally got mine, was about 5 years of searching to find one I could afford, and that's because my income went up enough to pay the same old high prices. Supply and demand can be a pain some times...

Where's the website of the guy who makes Amiga towers to order?

They weren't stupidly expensive, you got choice, and stuff like all the ports were nicely labelled.

Why not take a normal Amiga drive and just remove the faceplate and button, paint them, and re-install?  :-)

I wonder if it's possible for me to buy any of the
broken MKIII's and PPC's I've seem people talk about.
Been a while, but I used to fix tons of such hardware.
Any place in the US servicing these cards?
Matter of fact any one have a bad one they might like
me to take a look at? You'd get it back, promise.
At least in no worse shape then you sent it.
Here check my ebay... feedback   :hammer:
