Looking for pin out - diagrams - info on A1000 zorro bus
« on: April 03, 2005, 01:06:59 AM »
Hello,
Can anyone point me in the right direction for finding a pin out or diagram for the A1000 zorro bus.

Thank you,

Same pinout as the A500 one basically. Most A500 expansions work on A1000 although they mount back to front (NOT UPSIDE DOWN!!!) as the expansion connector on the A1000 is on the other side of the case compared to the A500.

@clockmstr,
I was wondering if you could take a look at drawing and verify if I've got this orientation correct?

Additional input from others is welcome as well.

Thank you,

Clockmstr is correct.......
I had an A500 (RocTec) SCSI harddrive unit plugged
on the A1000 bus and it worked fine, even reconized
the 8 megs ram in the harddrive adaptor.
It just sat backwards because the A1000 bus is on the
right side and the A500 bus is on the left side.
To my knowledge the pinouts are the same.

Where is pin one on the A500 slot? Is pin one towards the front of the A500 or towards the back of A500?

And is pin one on the top of the card edge or the bottom?

You know, now that I think about it, having the schematics of a zorro slot would be a pretty awesome tattoo down the spine.  :-P

Tatoo on a bridge card and some ISA slots and you could cover your entire posterior region!

If it helps, the A1000 schematics are here:
http://amiga.serveftp.net/schematics.html

They're the hand drawn ones, but still fairly usable.  100 pin expansion connector is shown down the left hand side of image 1.

You could print them onto that T-shirt transfer paper stuff and iron it onto your back for a poor man's tatoo :-)
