@doobrey:
Actually most cablecompanies here in NL have BBC1 and 2 in their standard package.

@wilse:
Mine even has problems with accepting input let alone memory leaks.

@mdma:

I saw him in Messiah. He was excellent. Check him out in the first(I
think?) episode of Cracker, when he's a psychotic Liverpool fan.
He's also in Shallow Grave.

I just watched the second episode, and I was a bit disappointed, really. The special effects are good, and the good Doctor retains that aloofness of a Time Lord, but I found the story... how to put this... naive and rather silly. (Come on---a flat humanoid pancake holding a space station watching the death of Earth for ransom?? I liked the little jokes, though: a jukebox called an iPod, using a mobile phone to call 5 billion years into the past.) I was expecting a number of episodes around one scary-ish tale, not the be-over-and-done-with-it-in-an-hour stuff. The preview for episode 3 was quite good, however. I'm hoping that episode is more exciting.
Some people say that cats are sneaky, evil and cruel. True, and they have many other fine qualities as well.

I know it's not actually the theme but it sounds very similar.

I thought it was more than just two notes, though.

yeah, there are more than two notes, but the synth part is built up from two note phrases, which intersperse with the Solo to great effect :-)

@uncharted:

Actually, now I think about it, you're right.
Eccleston was the police inspector that Carlisle stabbed, I think.

My memory ain't waht it used to be.

I really must lay off the, eh, what was it again? ;-)

I saw that episode of Cracker (as well as many others)
WOW! there's one show that you would NEVER see made on american TV (limp-wristed pussies that they are) - talk about intense!
just brilliant!

(ps, Robert Carlisle often plays crasy people.  what was that great movie about canibalizm in the american west? oh, yeah: "Ravenous".

i guess the only time i've seen him do something more "noraml" is in that Tv series, "Hamish Macbeth" or "The Full Monty".)
the no CARB diet- no Cheney, Ashcroft, Rumsfeld or Bush.

Was quite a neat series final of Dr. Who. I'd only seen Daleks on pics before and never thought they could actually be slightly disturbing. I guess a distorted voice goes a long way :-).

They actually did make an American version of cracker.

Robbie Coltrane's part was played by some leather jacket wearing middle aged lothario in a sports car! :roll:

It's ok, you old timers just need more rest that's all.  You'll be fine after your afternoon nap. ;-)

and, am I GLAD I missed that!
I stand by my original point:
American TV is too pussie to show the Real Cracker.  :-)
