Okay. :-) I deliberately obfuscated my old account details when I "left" and I think it's unrecoverable. So I'm NoFastMem now, I guess. I went to Lawrence, Kansas but not for as long as I'd hoped 'cause dogs need a rabies jab six months before they return to the UK, which would mean getting a visa were I to go straight away... So I had to leave him behind in kennels which severely limited the amount of time I could be away. Also, my friend Shannon is moving back to California. If I'd got over sooner things would have been okay.

I got a flat in Scarborough and set my heart on becoming Anne Bronte. Minus the tuberculosis.

As LinchpiN said, they never got reset.  Hardly anyone could be bothered to set a valid e-mail IIRC, though that's all history now...

Of course, what it amounted to was that about 70% of the members hadn't logged on in 200 days or more, so they wouldn't have seen the password reset warning, and that there was in my opinion a very strong correlation between not logging on and not posting. Wayne feared that he would have to reset about 1000 passwords manually: I think that that is a gross overestimate. I presented my argument here (second-to-last contribution to the discussion) but unfortunately it never got a reply. But in the end, yes, the thing is entirely academic now.

@That Punk Guy:

I was halfway through this thread before I realised NoFastMem was you.

Good to see you back mate.

FWIW, I'm in the process of going iBook too, although I'll keep all my "Amigas". (2xA1200, A1 & Peg)

:-) :-)

GarageBand is a lot of fun to play around with. :-) I'll upload something as soon as I get DSL here.

Thanks for all the welcome-backs. :-) Sorry I'm still kinda in-and-out at the moment but I think I'll be returning more regularly soon. :-D

*thinks aloud: Is that a good thing?*

@TPG

I've tinkered with that at work (ahem, er not that I should be) but I can't for the life of me seem to actually do anything with it :lol:

I suppose I'm way too long in the tooth and dependent on OctaMED Soundstudio to learn how to use new music software :-D
