Need help with Lyra and FAST ATA 1200.
« on: March 28, 2005, 07:27:53 PM »
Hello all!

I bought a Lyra a few days ago. Now when I have dismantled my whole whabang (A1200T, mediator, and so on...) I discovered that lyra does not fit together with FAST ATA. So now I wonder, are there any ROM riser so I can get these two to fit?

Where can I get one in that case?

They`re only bog standard 42pin DIL sockets that you should be able to get from any online electronics store like RS or Maplins etc.

Just don`t get the turned pin versions, they`ll make the original ROM sockets go slack.

Hello!

I have searched both RS and Maplins, but none of them seems to have the 42 pin DIL sockets that Doobrey mentioned above. Does anyone know where to find this item?

Hello all!

Now I'm getting confused. Is it really 42pin DIL socket or is it a 40 pin DIL socket?

Anyone?

The actual ROM sockets are 42 pin, but the ROMs are 40 pin..
But the Fast-ATA probably uses the 2 unused address lines, so get 42 pin ones to be safe.

BTW, check RS again for part #448-4727 , £2 for a tube of 9 sockets.

Hello Doobrey and thanks!

It was only the 40 pins that was needed. I bought them from GGS Data in Ghotenburg, Sweden.
