Hum,
I suppose you`ll next be telling us that you`ve already added a value of fffffe to the DWord, TcpNumConnections, in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters register,
To increase your default connections as well?

(assuming you got sp2)

Gotta say I made this change a while ago, on 750k boradband and set to 10 connections it works fine for messageboards (regardless of photos etc), and hasn't interrupted 2 other machines on the same connection.

Hope you`ve all updated your browser to version 1.0.4

It`s got a few critical security holes fixed, including all javascript vulnerabilities.
There are currently no known active exploits of these vulnerabilities although a proof of concept has been reported."

See...

Today Firefox has released a patch and a configuration workaround for a Firefox vulnerability which could allow remote code execution.

If you are using Firefox you should type 'about:config:' in the URL box at the top of the Browser.
Now, type 'network.enableIDN' into the second box that appears.
Verify that 'network.enableIDN' is set to 'false'.

Rightclick  to toggle.

This will cure the bug - or wait untill V1.5 is fully released...

Speaking of FireFox I think I have found an MS/Google conspiracy.

If you do a search for "firefox" using 'Google Suggest' at http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=1&hl=en  it sort of crashes IE.

Works fine for me.  Google has a few syntax errors in their pages, though, and they rely on quirks mode for layout.  That's probably what's causing the trouble.  I'd expect more standards-compliance from them.

What version of Firefox do you have Blobrana?  I have 1.0.6 and the about :config: doesn't bring up anything.  About: by itself brings up a credits screen but nothing about configuration. :-?

-edit-

It's about:config with no second colon.

I have tried http pipelining in Firefox before, I never noticed a difference in performance.  The paint delay one is well-known in the community, though I've never tried it myself.

edit: just tried it (ngpaintlayout one), yep, that's quite a difference :-)

Hum,
so you set it as

nglayout.initialpaint.delay

With a value of 0 rather than 1000?
