Flicker Fixer help for A4000?
« on: March 25, 2005, 09:36:23 PM »
Hi -

I have a real C= 2320 "Amber" flicker fixer that I want to put into my A4000.  Will this work OK?  I see that the end plate needs to be modified a little bit. The thing I'm worried about is "feet" of the card.  The first foot of the card fits 100% in the Amiga 4000 video slot.  The second foot of the card fits about 3/4 of the slot behind the video slot.  Is this OK?

The A4000 video slot has extra pins to support the extra colors from the AGA chipset.  Flicker fixers for ECS machines (like the 2320) will work, but you'll be missing the extra color resolution.  It probably won't support all of the AGA resolutions either.

Hi -

I modified a backplate for the C= flicker fixer.  It fits in the A4000 just fine.  I've not experimented yet with different screen resolutions or colors.  Hopefully I'll get a 24 bit board of some sort and it won't be an issue.  What does a good Picallo / Retina /Cybergraphics cost these days anyway?
