Club Amiga Monthly
« on: March 03, 2003, 01:23:59 PM »
as reported by amiga-news.de, it seems that Amiga, Inc.
pulled out the second release of the zine mentioned in the subject - it is said to be some 20-page thick.
The question now is: being restricted to members only,
is it possible to members to publically talk about the contents?
If not (as I believe), can at least they say if there is actually some interesting news?

As a note, I'd say that this can be looked at as a little sign of activity by Amiga, Inc. ... hope it's not the only one ;)

Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere, but I just did not find any hint at it.

Regards,
saimo

I suppose AInc can't stop people releasing things publicly, but ask yourself...those people who have paid $50, do they really want to share what little they got for it with people who didn't pay?

well, I dunno if members had to sign some sort of agreement, so, before hurting anybody's sensibility, I thought it would be better ask, first.

yes, I had myself that doubt as I can see the bitterness of the whole situation.
Yet, if it had been me, I'd have been very happy of casting some light on today's gloom... and I think most Amigans would do just the same.

On the other side, I fear that the zine has so little (or irrelevant) information that's not even worth babbling about - of course I do hope that I'm wrong here.

I'm under the impression that this information will eventually be available to the general public (on the AInc homepage, I suppose), but that the Club members will simply see it before everybody else. Correct me if I'm wrong.

@Droid-
Yeah, I have the same problem (using AWeb II) and that AFTER I set Cookies to 'Always'.

'seems we're supposed to have some Club Icon appear but the 'Boing-in-sprocket' link just leads back to /cam/ and the log-on request for me!

Why don't they just use "best viewed with ANY browser" coding? That works for VHT-CAN and Eric Schwartz .........

IBrowse2.3 gives no problems, you can download a demo from the IOSPIRIT website:

@Ray

Well, you really must make sure because you`ll get a severe roasting if Amiga.inc`s website won`t work with amigas!

 :-D

There are some people here and at ann.lu who just love to jump up and bite the a$$ of amiga.inc at EVERY opportunity, try not to give them any excuses! ;-)

I don't have any problems getting to the site or logging in.

But this is a valid question that has been asked.  I've wondered if we are "suppose" to discuss anything there, and since I didn't know, I didn't discuss it.  There was some interesting info in this issue.  This one definitely had lots more stuff.

So what's the final answer Ray, can we discuss things that we've read there as long as we don't copy anything from there and post here (I know that will get us in trouble)?  I would love to discuss pages 6 & 7 to get other users input.

What is one of the features of being an Amiga Clubber that you cannot discuss matters that others can discuss freely?

Letsay you have a topic you find interesting....if they happen to cover or mention that topic in passing in their 20 page missive, you are under automatic gag order?

Wow, must be great to be a clubber, club me some more mr.amiga I've been a baaaad boy....
