Brazilian problems connecting?
« on: March 14, 2005, 05:02:10 PM »
I've gotten two reports this morning from people in Brazil saying that they cannot connect to Amiga.org through normal means.

There are no new banned IP addresses, nor have we intentionally banned an entire country.  All I can imagine is that there is some sort of routing problem between their network segment and ours.  Unfortunately it's beyond our abilities to correct such problems.  I just wanted to state -- for the sake of others who might be experiencing the same problem -- that we haven't found any reason for it on our servers or with our software.

You might need to check with your ISP to see if they might know of a more global routing issue.

Dont know if they have tried this, but working for an ISP myself there are a few things to try... ie :

Browsing to amiga.org via IP ( 68.90.68.66 )

Try a DNS flush incase your ISP has had a bad DNS day

Specify an alternate proxy server ( if your ISP uses transparent / cache system )

Hope this helps
