C64 vs Atari 800(XL)

Hey Yo!

Here is a question that will boggle the minds! :-D

The C64 is Commodore, but
The Atari 800 is another Jay Miner Wonder!

Which of the 2 is the better?

Mine will have to be the Atari 800 XL version. This was the first computer i have ever owned. It was a nice system with really good technology for the time (i believed it came out in the 70's). The games that really made use the system capabilitites were good and games were often better than the C64 counterparts (Boulder Dash for example). Unfortunately, the system really wasn't pushed as far as it could have been and often games were rushed and then decreased in being developed. The only thing the C64 has over the Atari 800 is SID.

I have to be so unashamedley biased and say the C64!

The 8bit Ataris didn't have as large a following in the UK so I never had much experience of them.

I had such fun as a kid with the trusty C64.

I don't think it's a fair comparison, THe c64 was quite a bit newer than the 800
