So please dont slate me for it, etc
@kev,
I never really understood that phrase. "slate you for it" sounds like you expect to be hit upside the head with a big slab of rock

@everyone else,
I have given up on trying to make people understand my personal stance that I don't care which company is involved any more. Once I gave up and accepted the fact that I had been screwed over, I simply gave up caring any more. Both companies involved have serious shortcomings and neither has EARNED my support and NEITHER has my allegiance.
My sensitivity as of late is that I'm just sick of hearing people {bleep}ing about ANY progress by ANY of the companies or people involved. While I'm certainly not innocent here, there's a growing contingency of "kids" here who're so entrenched into their viewpoints that don't even realize they go on the warpath whenever anyone from the "other side" reports any progress.
After 10 years of running Amiga.org (April 26th, 1995 was when we opened Amiga.org), all the kvetching and whining really, really gets on my fricking nerves, and I've just reached a point in my life where, if all someone is going to do is {bleep} and whine, I really don't want them around here mucking up the rest of the site for everyone else.
That's not censorship, that's not "being hitler", that's simply a mandate that if you don't actually enjoy your chosen obsession any more, then move on and let everyone else (who does) enjoy it without the negative input.
{edit:}
I am *not* trying to suggest that you shouldn't point out the obvious where EITHER Amiga Inc or Genesi is concerned. They've both dug their own respective holes with the community and the problems and history of each ARE fair game. It's simply irritating to hear someone report PROGRESS only to have everyone start slamming them for the exact same {bleep} they've been slamming them on for the past three years.
Amiga Inc "stole" your $50. Yeah, yeah, we got it. We've heard it for the past 3 years. At least you some of you finally got T-shirts. Genesi delivered a motherboard but abandoned your OS and screwed over several developers. Check. We got it. We've all heard it before. Yawn
The point is, if we (as a purported "community") aren't willing to "get over it" and move on, NEITHER company will ever be able to get anything done and all of this stupid posturing and guerilla marketing by certain individuals in the community is pretty much moot.
