-Edit- Bare, unpopulated A4000T motherboards - $40 each.
« on: February 24, 2005, 06:36:25 PM »
There's a possibility I might be purchasing a stack of NOS A4000T motherboards in the near future. Right now I am awaiting clarification if these are fully populated boards with all chips, or some rare blank novelty boards.

I dunno, would there be any interest in NOS A4000T motherboards?  :-o

-Edit-
Clarification, these are bare boards :-( Unpopulated, no chips. Sorry for the letdown.

Anyone want a bare board for art value?

Edit#2These boards will be $40 each. If you are interested, PM me to reserve one.

I would definitely be interested, assuming the board is the same spec as mine. What sort of price are we talking about (all chips present)?

Too early to say, I just got an email asking if I was interested. No hard details yet. Needless to say I fell out of my chair when I read that line  Let's hope they are full boards and I can get them at a good price.

I'd be interested, but I'm guessing that most likely those are blank boards.

What price did you have in mind, if the boards are indeed fully populated?

Oh I almost forgot.

In order to actually test an A4000T motherboard out, you will need the SCSI, Audio/Video, and I/O modules connected to the motherboard, otherwise it won't boot.

Vesalia have these in stock, and possibly SoftwareHut as well.

It all depends on quantity and price I can get them for. I really don't like to gouge buyers. I believe in giving a fair price in the hope the customer becomes a repeat customer. That said I don't know ANY details yet. I'm just hopefull. A stock of NOS A4000T motherboards is the holy grail stock of the Amiga market. :-)

I'd like an extra one (or two) because I have been toying with the idea of designing a new A4000T case from scratch. The original case is a crap design and mine is yellow and has several dents in it anyway. I could design a new case in Cinema 4D and pass the dxf to a company that has one of those laser cutters. It would probably be a desktop design in brushed aluminium, nice and light. But that would be for later this year or next year. Nice to get spare boards now though if they are available.

It almost sounds too good to be true. I hope it works out, and I'd be interested.

I would probably be interested also.
It's not the question, that is the problem, it is the problem, that is the question.

I might be interested. My A4000T is my main computer, but I'd like to do a few hacks, and having a spare around would be handy for sizing things up before I tear down the "real one", and for sizing thngs up during idea sessions when I don't want to tear the "real one" out at all.

I'm currently using a spare A3000 desktop to build my tower hack without interfering with usability of that "real one", which is quite useful.

I too, may be interested.  Building an A4000 sounds like a good project.  Price is definitely a concideration though.  Best regards...Art
