Printing from Wordworth7 to a network PostScript printer
« on: February 24, 2005, 02:27:43 AM »
Has anyone successfully done this?

I've got an HP Laserjet 4 w/ PostScript module, printing over netpar.device under OS3.9.2.

-Everything works fine when I use the Laserjet4 driver (in both Workbench and Wordworth), but it's very slow (standard Amiga drivers)

-I can print from IBrowse, APDF, etc using Postscript.

-I can't print from Wordworth using Postscript. After clicking the Print button, the pointer changes to a busy state and the program hangs. The system is still stable, but it seems like Wordworth is stuck trying to find something.

I assume the fix lies somewhere either in the Printer Prefs, or Wordworth's Print Setup, but I can't figure out where. Any insight appreciated!

Wordworth 7 is a piece of crap.  It locks up and crashes on my machine.  Could be the reason.
Going Bananas over AMIGAs since 1987...

Looking for Fusion Fourty PNG ROMs V3.4?

I use a HP2550L Postscript laser printer connected locally (and shared to the rest of the network via Samba).

Printing direct to the parallel port from the likes of Final Writer 97, Pagestream, etc, often results in a problem like you described.  Or some data seems to get to the printer, but it never prints.  Like all of the file hasn't been transfered?

If I print to a local file, (which can then be viewed with Ghostscript as a print preview), the file can then be copied direct to the parallel port, and it always prints fine.

Perhaps give that a try?
