@cartmanau

Actually you are the one that is confused! Do you need to repeat Commodore 101? I said "C=1541", which is the ORIGINAL (brown) 1541, and that used a PC power plug.  (The BEIGE 1541C also did!) I never said anything about the 1541-II, which uses a 1541-II/1581 external PS.

OK I was wrong the A590 uses a ROUND connector!  I had to put down the crack pipe and actually check.  LOL  Damn I could of sworn it was a regular A500 PS!  So this PS can be used with what other Commodore gear????

But you said the A590 doesnt have a round plug. The 1541-II PSU has 1541 written on it (no sign of 1541-II).

In any case I might take Commodore 101 again, I must have only scraped past last time (like most teachers :P)

Told you it was round  :-D
But no, it will not function as a regular power supply (at least, some of them won't). If it has a power switch it might work, but both the ones I have here don't have one. The A590 has a sense line, basically sending a +5V line from the A500 to the A590 power supply telling it to switch on (so in fact it switches on and off together with the amiga). Hooking it up to anything else will not make it switch on.
