CD Blues
« on: February 19, 2005, 11:12:31 AM »
Hi,
Having got into all things Miggy via my PC and Winuae I now am the proud owner of a 1200.I have fitted a 2gig  hard drive and am now going for an accelerator card (Ebay).
I have also fitted an external CDrom by using an IDEfix Express adapter. The cable runs through the left hand side of the machine (I cut a slot for this purpose). The hard drive is fine being connected via the IDEfix Express internally. However wnen I run the IDEfix Express software the
program refuses to recognize the CD.If I boot with both left and right buttons the system tells me it has identified it as HD1.I have built a fair number of PC's over the years but this has me stumped. To be fair I dont even know what a setpatch does exactly.PLEASE HELP!!!

Did you install the CD filesystem?

These things can be a major PITA on amigas, but you'll get it eventually.

--edit-- Also you may want to try changing the configuration a little, like setting the drive as "master" on it's own channel etc.. (for some reason the CD drive for my 1200 would only work that way)

Hi,
No I have not- I do have amiCDFS on the Hard Drive so I will try as you suggested and install it.
Thanks ever so much for heading me in the right direction (my fingers are crossed)
