Best iconset for '030/RTG + WB3.9
« on: February 12, 2005, 07:35:59 PM »
Okay, so I've been messing around with my new Amiga, and although I like the WB3.9 color icons, they are far too slow to use normally, and the 4 color versions are just ugly.  What iconset would you people recommend for the best tradeoff of speed/aesthetics for such a machine?

You might be able to speed them up...
In the Workbench prefs program, set the icon quality to 'Bad' and set the images to use 'Other memory'

Hmmm... I never really noticed any speed issues with the GlowIcons. Try adding more buffers to your hard drive.

it290:

You could try the MagicWB style icons, they load _much_ faster than GlowIcons. IMHO, GlowIcons loads way too slow even on a 060 machine with uwscsi disk etc.

What about newicons?

I currently use in my 2k 030 RTG a iconset called ProLiteicons, available in aminet, which are really lovely.

My FTP 2k is not going to crush any world record in icon displying nor nothing, but I think theyre fast and cool enough.

BTW, does anyone know if there is more ProLite icons like available elsewhere?

Regards
