Forgotten how tedious study can be...
« on: February 03, 2005, 10:51:12 AM »
I tell you what, I'm exhausted, I've forgotten how to overcome all the adverse effects of prolonged study, especially after working all day, coffee gets me going for a while, but eventually I end up back where I started... :-? :-? :-? , got any advice that can help keep me going???

A bit of fresh air every couple of hours always did the world of good for me, even just a 5 minute walk to the bottom of the street or something.  Also, caffeine apparently shortens your attention span.

Good luck

aw men, I was in the same position as you were just yesterday
today was deadline
well, we unfortunately didn't come up with a complete product because we got stuck at some points
if I did some more of those 5 minute walks we might have made it. Well, we have made it, but not satisfying, especially not beseen the amount of time we spent on it :-(

Deadlines suck, lucky for me I'm not on one, its just that I have so much work I want to get done, but in reality, I don't really have the time to do it, oh well, there goes my weekend :-o

well, coming weekend (WEEEEEKEEEND!!!!)
is completely full, with non-study things I really have to attend to 'cause I neglected these grossly last month(s)
like cleaning/tidying up my house
at these times I miss a lover who gives some (moral) support

Cleaning...whats cleaning :-P Speaking of cleaning, I just thought of all the mess in the backyard after the huge storm the other night, so I gotta do that too. As for moral support, I'm quite lucky, the missus is always behind me 100%, cheer up speel, you'll find someone to fill that empty spot.

somewhat glad I do not have a backyard
or not :-( (I wouldn't tidy it up anyway, since tidying up nature seems a bit daft to me)
still, my socks are 100% germ-free

Anyhoo, when it's a bit vacation, I think I'm gonna walk through nature a lot, and do a bit lounging, or "tea ceremonies", or do the herbal things or other relaxed things like that, no backyard necessary

Shame that, I'm quite lucky in that respect, my house is surrounded by nature, I back onto a creek where the flora and fauna is plentiful. Theres nothing more satisfying than sitting on my varandah looking out over what looks like total wilderness whilst eating my breakfast, quite a satifying start to the day. As for cleaning up the backyard, its somthing that, IMO, needs to be done, I like to have my very own plot of nature looking its best :-)

you do not have the slightest idea how much I envy you.
lucky {bleep} :-):-):-)

well, I shouldn't really moan, I live in the prettiest neighbourhood (it's officially monumental) in the city, where it's nice and quiet (for city standards) and just 5 mins from the centre of the city

but still, I'm a greeny and so...

Yes, I love it here, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world, its quite weird in a way, because if you take a short walk down the road, you can see the tall buildings of the city poping out above the tree line, kinda eery really. Now its time for a downer, eventually my beautiful view is soon to be spoilt as the land behind me is scheduled for "re-development" in the form of triple storey units, it will be a very sad day when they are completed :-( :-( :-(

@star69

I might give that a try tonight, as for caffeine, that doesn't surprise me, might make a switch to some flavoured teas, I figure the small amount of caffeine found in tea is outweighed by all the anti-oxidants and other nutrients. Cheers :-)

They can't keep their claws from anything; why don't they just build higher buildings and leave the rest in peace?  :-x
Well, enjoy your environment as long as you can

We fought the re-development for as long as we could and went as high as a small group of residents could afford, but we were no match for a big development company, its just not right :pissed:

unfortunately...no I don't

I spent the past month in virtually the same situation as you've described here.

I'm on semester break now though (WooHoo!!)

Too bad it only lasts three weeks...then it's back to post tonal music theory.

@wain

Semester breaks are never long enough ;-)

Tonal music theory sounds quite interesting, well thats what I think anyway, but I remember from my days at uni the subjects that lacked a practical component were always the toughest to get through.
