@ MiAmigo

There is a thread around here called 'several PPC cards on Amibench' that deals with DCE retaining cards for repair, and to make things worse, deals with a scammer who ripped off 8 or 9 people here who paid him money for PPC cards, but he never sent them.

There's a lot of misery and heartache surrounding PPC cards, I don't know why, but they attract trouble, it seems.

And now, he's probably either selling stolen cards, or trying to collect more money in another scam? Can I say that's completely 'effed up'?

You can, and it is. The Amiga community has its problems, but one thing that all Amiga owners should have is a respect for fair trade and not trying to rip each other off. I didn't even get ripped off, and I was annoyed on behalf of those who were scammed.

And I am affiliated with DCE how? Look, I'm sorry you got burned by DCE but I personally have never had any problems with DCE. Phase5 did fold while still holding my CybervisionPPC card for repairs and I never saw it again. If you want to dump on DCE feel free to start you own DCE bash thread instead of slandering me and trying to attach me to DCE and your problems.

I have been here at on Amiga.org since 2002 and in this time I have read, argued and helped in the forums whenever I could. Anyone can search and see.

I have one bad remark and one neutral remark on ebay and quite frankly the bad remark was never resolved. I offered to give the money back and have the system shipped back to me but he wanted the money and the system. If the system was that bad why did he still want it?

BTW, I think that you are lucky that the reserve price has been broken before someone used buy it now. I think that this aucton will end above $600USD, easily.

@ Rigger:

That's one of the problems with Ebay unfortunately.  Your entire trading credibility rests on your feedback rating, and feedback ratings are left up to the individual who you're trading with - they're not regulated at all.  So if you meet some kind of head case (and they are out there) and he wants to cause misery, he will.  And that's the end of it, whether it's fair or not if he wants to leave you negative feedback for being denied "something for nothing" he will and there's nothing anyone will do about it.

I've been quite lucky with my sales.  I always do my best to please and I have a feedback rating of 100% which reflects that, but it only takes for me to trade with one idiot and all of a sudden I could find my feedback rating irreprably scared.  I did trade with one guy who filed for a non-paying Ebayer just because I wasn't able to pay immediately that day.  I contacted him the day after the sale to arrange payment (I was going to use paypal) and he said he wasn't accepting it anymore and that he was filing for a non-payment strike against my account.  I couldn't understand why he would want to do that, so I contacted Ebay and explained the situation but they wouldn't help me! Luckily the strikes don't affect feedback though.

Nobody is slandering you or this thread.  The bottom line is the DCE cards have a notoriously bad habit of failing!!!  A known fact, ask anyone.  Mine failed and I had my dealer (Software Hut) mail it to DCE in 2001.  I have never heard or seen the card ever since.  Ah yes DCE, the great company.  Glad you never had problems.  But a lot have.

I dunno, $600 seemed fair to me thought it would get snatched up for that. Listed my Picasso IV buy it now for $160 and was snatched in less than two hours. Not saying the cash isn't cool but I just do not get to use my Amigas like I used to. I really wanted to sell the system as an entire unit but I understand $1200 is a chunk to put out for a "classic" system. As it is I'm posting a piece everyother day or two.

A4000 - 604e/233mhz 060/50mhz - PicassoIV - Vlab - Highway USB - 128meg ram - IOBlix ser/par - IOBlix Ether (it died a couple months ago) - CDRW - 4 X SCSI HD = around 10 gig total - Emplant Deluxe - Micronik Tower w/7 slot Z3 daughter board - 2 x HD floppy.
