Whilst browsing through the gallery, i noticed the "Boing Shoes". I vote them top in my "Amiga things that suck" poll :-)

The Things that Suck for Amiga:
(1) Commodore's bad management and marketing in the 80's.
(2) If only Bill Gates would have used AmigaDOS instead of CPM.
(3) Not having companies with the finances to help push the Amiga.
(4) Bankruptcy after bankruptcy after bankruptcy. It doesn't help.
(5) No "Sugardaddy"

How's this for things that suck with Amiga. How 'industry wags' and the computer industry, in general, generally ignore the Amiga, its accomplishments and achievements, and its honored place in the history of computers. Its almost always completely skipped, or glossed over. That sucks! :griping:

I don't like the 'low cost' feel about the Amiga hardware (non-socketed chips, cheap casings, unimaginative design - except the 1000, 3000, and the wedges). I do like the software concept of the Amiga.
So, a good system poorly packaged.

I liked the A1200 design. It was small and expandable. I don't like the big tower boxes; they take up too much space and they're bulky. I'd rather have a desktop than a tower, unless of course I could afford a 30" Apple monitor, but 30" may be too much for a monitor.

IC sockets are largely unnecessary today. Look at all the PC motherboards with their northbridge welded direct to the PCB these days, along with ethernet, sound, etc. chips. With the number of pins on many chips these days, as well as the desire to keep thngs as small as possible, sockets are even becoming impractical for chips, and we won't likely se something like the A2000 or A3000 with so many sockets again. SMT reduced manufacturing costs, allows more stuff to be crammed into a smaller space, even at times into the same IC package (north/southbridge chips now include a bunch of stuff that used to be seperate chips), and improves system reliability. Those ain't bad things...
