Retroputing Website
« on: January 16, 2005, 03:03:31 AM »
I wasn't sure exactly where to post this, so I figured "general" was the best place for it.

Just a small advert to my website and forums, which is dedicated to classic (mostly 8 bit) computers in general - I could use a few more users on the forums.  Topics cover Commodore/Atari/Apple/TI and more.  Plus if you get bored, you can check out the real telnetable BBS.

Thanks for checking it out (if you do).

very nice site indeed :-)

but, there's one wrong thing on it
the CD32 didn't have a 68020 proc as the A1200,
it had a 68EC020 proc, wich wasn't 32/32 (32 bits instructions/32 bits adress bus) but a 32/24 (32 bits instructions/ 24 bits adress bus).
btw. the normal 68000 proc was a 32/16 bits
that's why the Atari ST was called that way: sixteen/thirty-two
and the Atari TT was called that way because it was thirty-two/thirty-two bits
(well tis the other way around, but I guess you get the idea)

Also, the Dreamcast displays 24 bits (16 million) colours on screen, instead of the stated 16 bits (65 thousand) colours.

Btw. the Magnavox Odyssey 2 is called in Europe the Philips Videopac
And the canary said: \'chirp\'

Good site! I loved it. I really like reading about the 'old days' when computers were so new, different (from each other!) and exciting! I'll join. See you over there, soon.  ;-)

Proud new member, here! Just joined up over there. Now I can start collecting info and parts for my C=64, and my SX-64.  :python:

Yep, lots of stuff to add/fix.  I couldn't remember if 16million colors was 24 bit or 16 bit :/  .

What I'm missing is the CBM computer product line.
I still have an CBM 610 (expanded to CBM 620 with 256 kB RAM) with monitor, CBM 3040 double floppy disk station (5 1/4"; dead - LED only flashing) and a CBM 7-needle matrix printer plus some software somewhere down in our basement...
 :-o
All the best,

Dandy
