CD-RW: Which make and model?
«
on:
January 15, 2005, 02:34:10 PM »
Hi,
I'm considering the purchase of a CD-RW device.
Which make(s) and model(s) are recommended?
What software to go with it?
Any advice is welcome.
Regards,
Jettah

We stock Lite-On drives because of their reliabilty, compatibilty with the Amiga and they are low profile so they fit in restricted cases such as the A4000D.
Have a look here:

I'd say any regular ATAPI thing is going to work just fine in a miggy. Pay a visit to Norrod or Funprice and just buy the cheapest :-).
-edit-
Hmmmmmm, or are Amiga burn programs very specific-brand-centric?

MakeCD works with every modern CD-RW and I believe others (BurnIt, FryingPan) have very good compatibility too.

LG is the best considering durability, features and price.
As for the sw, MakeCD works with the majority of CDRWs, just use the generic CDR_SCSI3_ATAPI.driver ;-)
