Anarchy Online

Hey chaps, seen as some of you guys are playing i thought i'd join in so i downloaded and installed it. However, its not working properly. I was wondering if any of you guys had encounter'ed any simular experiences.

My setup :

Athlon 750
G-Force 4
600-odd mb ram

The game runs fine, the only thing is , when a box pop's up with text in (i.e if a character is speaking) i get an empty box. As if my GFX driver's are not working properly. So i downloaded the latest n-vidia driver, and also the newest Direct - X, still the same.

Any idea's ?

Did you try the Anarchy Online forums?  Seems a more obvious place to go for PC game help then an Amiga board.

Well no. Cos im in work, and its blocked. And a lot of amiga peep's play it, so i asked here 1st :-D

I haven't had that problem and I also have a GeForce 4 (128mb) with the latest Nvidia and Direct X drivers. My processor is an Athlon XP that runs at 1.7gHz. I have 2gb  ram.

If you bring up the inventory (i) and then shift-left-click an item to bring up information on it, does that window also come up blank? If it doesn't, I would then look at the Chat Configs (Right click on the text window that is in the bottom center of the screen) and then navigate the menu that pops up.

If you are running Windows 98, some people reported font problems with AO in the past.  If that is the only thing that is wrong and that is what you are running, see if you can search the AO forums for a solution.

Or upgrade to ME.

...just kidding.  ME is worse.  :-)
