ehm, you mean the c directory on my Amiga, or the C numbered partition on my harddisk?

Well, the first has 64 files, and the latter has 143,652 files

C=201

Only after the last river has been poisoned,
Only after the last fish has been caught,
Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten.

I don't have a 'C' because I am an Amiga user  :-)

well of course I meant sys:c/
and sure you do have it, just try list c:

BTW, maybe it would be wise to keep original, system (workbench) c: intact , just add files to some_other_dir and then use assign

@Speelgoedmannetje:
How do you manage to keep only 64 files? where are your archivers, small utilities like editors, etc..

Actually, I got an A500 + A590 hd expansion, very very basic, and have a plain installation of WB 1.3. I only do games and a bit fun stuff with it (still need some good mod tracker program), all the packing and other processing stuff is being done with PC. I got a serial cable link between my A500 and my PC, using Amiga Explorer from Cloanto as communication program (wich works great btw :-D)
There was only one WB disk included with my second hand A500, the extra's disk was corrupted :-(. Maybe I should get some nice s/w package with all kinds of usefull/fun (commercial as well as PD) software and tools and so. Any reccomendations?

I have got a lot of old programs for A500, unfortunately they are pretty useless (most of them are disk copy like x versions of XCopy)
Does that Cloanto package allow PC to browse A500 files and works on win2k/xp?
If not, I don't see much advantage compared to PC2Amiga.
Have you tried networking it with winuae using one of many nullmodem Amiga networks from Aminet?

Last time I checked it, about 10 MB or something like; some backups were there also, older versions... Must look some day.

I got Amiga Explorer because I didn't have any program to use a null modem with on the Amiga. I could have written a program to use a null modem on my amiga, I found some M$ basic code on the internet, IF I had any basic compiler on my Amiga. I mean, I had nothing but a single workbench disk. I couldn't find a description on the internet to use the serial port with workbench. No, that was included in the Amiga Explorer package :roll: :lol:
Anyhoo, it works now, and I think AmigaExplorer should work under XP (controlling the serial porst really shouldn't be a problem in fact). It allows you easily with a drag and a drop to write and extract (also any NDOS) disks and also you can extract the kickstart with a single drag 'n drop
