Excellent question! And you know, I did test that. Funny thing, either that doesn't work either, or I put in the wrong IP address for
www.amiga.org. Either way, I have a new theory, which I'm about to try out this morning. (Does any of us EVER go to work, or do anything else??). Anyway, here's my theory:
I think the problem is related to how the older browsers (such as AWeb and IBrowse) actually communicate with my router. The fact that I can visit some web sites indicates that there is at least partial communication going on with the DNS servers. However, during installation, Miami was not able to establish a full test link with the router's DNS services, which seems to indicate that communication, is somehow hampered by my router's chosen protocols (set up by me, and recognized by modern browsers). I am going to test this theory now by putting the Amiga into my routers DMZ, effectively by passing all (restrictive) protocols. Then, we shall see...
