The most current one is the "sock" fad.

Then there was the "Amiga 2000 series professional computer" fad.

Were there others? I wonder what the future brings. :-)

You forgot the short lived but very amusing "Batteries" fad... there are been many others in my time here :-) But none so pervasive and powerful as the Sock.

Oh there have been many...

The "mil spec" fad, the "I've a crush on Blobrana fad" and the "secretaries & toilets" fad were notables that I can think of off hand.

Yes, I should have said "military spec" instead of "Amiga 2000 series Professional Computer". :)

I guess both came in pairs, but the "military spec" was more abused, I think. :-)

Yeah, it spawned all kinds of threads, extending as far as MooBunny and a spoof Doomy review of the Pegasos.  At least I assume it was a spoof, not even Doomy would take issue with the suitability of a product based on the type of packing foam used in the box, would he?

Ah, but my good man, Blobzie's appeal isn't just a fad, it is an institution...she is, after all, AO's Little Sweetheart...

(By the way, if there was an option to "add hundreds-and-thousands" to that, I would have used it  :-D )

I think that the Blobrana fad is a bit over the top. Everyone claims that she's cute and all, however we've only seen one picture oh her (faces of A.org), and that shot looks like it was taken from a funny angle. From that shot, I'd say she looks rather regular.

I'm not convinced. :-)

@ x56

Yup, I see what you mean. I think we may have to withdraw the title of AO's Little Sweetheart until we can confirm officially that it is a title that Blobzie deserves. Confirmation must be in the form of several profile views, a short video, a few posed pics and a written statement.

We would of course need an objective analysis of all the evidence, and I really can't recommend anyone other than myself for that job  :-P

Edit: I suppose any of the users here who has more than 1000 posts but no avatar, will be suitable for the job.

I think id be a more suitable guy for the job since im completely impartial as i have not yet formed an opinion having never seen her photo.

I really should learn to construct better sentences though....  Damn the sqa for deciding sentence structure wasnt important when i went through school.
