Can't access PC CDROM in WinUAE
« on: December 19, 2004, 07:34:23 PM »
Help!

I'm trying to get my PC's CD ROM and WinUAE to work together, but am failing miserably.

The logfile says:
Quote

Drive F = uaescsi.device:0

However, booting in UAE returns the message
Quote

Cannot open "Uaescsi.device" unit 0

But my CD ROM is UAEscsi unit 0 is it not?

What have I missed?

Stupid question but I ran into this problem and got stuck with it for a while til I found out I've missed to check the "UAEscsi.device" under misc settings. After checking that AmiCDFS worked great and yes unit=0 works for me. :)

Thanks Brian,

Doh!

Have managed to get the CD ROM support workin along with Internet...

However, after installing Boing Bags 1 & 2 my system's screwed.  Upon resetting in UAE, no startup sequence is run so I'm presented with an AmigaDOS screen

Trying to run startup-sequence manually results in an error message saying that this file is not executable.

Doh! Doh! Doh!

Can anyone help?

I ran into that one time... nasty.. only thing left to for me was to start all over again. If you use HDF file you should be able to explore these with a program... think it's called "ADF Explorer" or "ADF View" to get hold of importat files, if you use directories well... that would be to obvious? ;)

I always have my HDF's backup from that day forward. Perhaps not a fully up to date backup but every other month or so or when I've done important changes.

Don't know why it went down for you, I'm thinking perhaps romupdate or scsi.device update but I don't know.
