This may be a bit strange, but I would like to get some feedback from other Amiga users worldwide. I read just before a guy saying that he is surfing the net on his A2000 and having fun. Not just using an appliance like his electric shaver.
I have both an A4000T and a pc. I recently upgraded my pc memory and a few other things. It was nothing special me, just an appliance upgrade, so to speak. The pc I use and I do play a few games on it also. But my heart isn't in it.
If I can give an example here. I am in my late 20's and rarely have excitment outbursts as I did when I was a kid. But everytime I get something for my Amiga, I really look forward to getting it and using it. I feel excitment as I did when I was a kid?!
Another example is playing Quake. I have never had any interest in playing Quake on the PC, however I have played it numerous times on the Amiga. I cannot explain it. The Amiga has a real sense of quality and worth about it.
I myself love the classic systems and will continue to buy hardware for the classic systems. Everytime I turn on the Amiga, I feel a sense of connection and quality. It's software is not just reliant on the hugh cpu power as the pc is, it is made specially for the features of the Amiga.
I continue to use the Amiga to this day and it has been a great system. I am not one bit put off with the closure of Amiga companies or discontinued support. There is enough hardware and software out there to keep me happy.
I would like to say to other Amiga users out there this, we all know the Amiga and what it stands for. I would like to see all of us continue to use our classic systems for some time yet. There is plenty of hardware on ebay and for sale in our local areas.
I have friends often question me on the amount I spend on my Amiga. I admit I had a big outlay but I have not had to continuely upgrade as I have with my pc. I say that if you love your Amiga as much as I do, forget what others say, at the end of the day if your happier turning on your Amiga then a pc or mac, then stick to your passion!
I have never met such a close community as the Amiga one. We have all stuck together and helped each other out through the years and this website is evidence of that. We all own a part of the Dream that was the Amiga, please don't give it up if your heart is in it.
I hope you all don't think this is too long winded. I would like to hear from people who think the same?
