Commodore and "Friends"
« on: December 19, 2004, 12:40:56 PM »

I recently got the last season of "Friends" on DVD, and I came to thinking a little...

The show started in 1994, the same year that Commodore went under, and now in the last season Monica and Chandler are looking at a house in West Chester.. The same area ( county, suburb or whatever West Chester is ) where Commodore Business Machines was located...

Coincidence? I think not!  :-D

Monica and Chandler are buying Commodore?

Interesting.

In one of the early episodes Ross mentions he was on the soccer team at school, Monica replies "no you werent you used to type out the team list on your commodore 64".

In one of the episodes, you see Chandler on the couch quite smugly leafing through a copy of Mac Format magazine

All of the "friends" regularly hang out in the Coffee House.

Coincidence? I think not! ;-)

In the early episodes (possibly the first one), Rachael was supposed to be getting married to a dentist.

Could it be the same dentist who put up the VC money for Hi-Toro to build the first Amiga? :-)

However cool a cameo mentioning of C= stuff might be, it doesn't change the fact that Friends is just another lame sitcom. I truly don't get why this series is so incredible hyped.

Cause it's fun? It might be you that you don't like that kind humor, but if it's appreciated by most (incredible hyped) this means something...

On the topic, about Ross's C64, look here! That thread was for the PC-standards (Chandler's laptop) as seen by the popular tv-shows not a lot of time ago (few years, and what looked cool then -my amiga was better, but not portable :-) - is outdated by today's standards!), which unfortunately evolved to something else...
