amissl v1.1
« on: December 18, 2004, 06:25:21 PM »
I'm using ibrowse2.1 and trying to get it to work with amissl v1.1.

I've installed amissl using its installer script and checked
that the assign for amissl is in user-startup, checked I have the cypher libraries
and the amissl.library in libs but I still cant log in to ebay.

Is there something I have to set up in my genisis prefs? like
set https port 443 or something?

I just get the requester telling me to install amissl or miamissl.

Hum,
and in ibrowse`s prefs - under `security` - you have ticked the three tabs miamissl sslv2 etc....?

perhaps it`s the ibrowse version (??) have you tried 2.3?

IBrowse needs AmiSSL version 2

not 1.1

I thought only versions of ibrowse later than 2.2 needed amissl v2?

Can someone who has set this up point me in the right direction?

Hum,
i think you have to have them ticked on...

Are you using Yam , etc, (and that is why you need V1.1 rather than upgrading to amissl V2 ) ?

your startup sequence liiks like this?
;BEGIN AmiSSL
ASSIGN AmiSSL: "sys:Internet/AmiSSL"
if exists AmiSSL:Libs
ASSIGN ADD LIBS: AmiSSL:Libs
endif
;END AmiSSL

best to upgrade/download ibrowse and amisslv2

upgraded to amissl v2.2 and ibrowse 2.3 (which now has an annoying 30 minute time limit and will only allow me one window) and I still cant access ssl pages.

Same error message telling me to use miamissl. So I'm guessing I need to set up amissl in Genesis or something?

in my user-startup I have

;BEGIN AmiSSL
assign AmiSSL: "Workbench3.9:Internet/AmiSSL"
if exists AmiSSL:Libs
   assign ADD LIBS: AmiSSL:Libs
endif
;END Amissl

You need to -

a. Move your IB keyfile from your old version to your new version ( you did make a backup, right? )
b. Make sure in IB prefs SSL v2 and v3 are checked and Miami SSL is UNchecked (you are using Genesis from WB3.9) No Genesis settings need to be changed.
c. In IB prefs Security, Ciphers, UNcheck 3DES.  This may be causing slowdown.

Hum,
SS looks ok...

Check that you have the correct processor type of amissl libs:
68020-40

And ibrowses prefs uses picture processing as  `internal` - check the correct version(68020-40) of codecs are used...

And increase your cache etc...

Okay sorted now, I unticked MiamiSSL and its all go.  Ibrowse is still a bit crashy though and slows everything down :(

Now if I can just find that keyfile...

I'd still use voyager anyday over ibrowse but it's too buggy and development seems to have stopped :(
