Can anyone please tell me where to connect the little fly cable of the FastAta 1200 on the old ide header??? Is it pin 39?
The header on the m/b looks like that

 ....................
1....................

I think that #39 is on the upper row of pins, the last on the far right is # 40?
anyone with a foto or something?  :-?  :-?  :-?

it is indeed pin 39, as far as i remeber, all it does is make the hdd light flash on the miggy when the powerflyer accesses a drive

if u bought your powerflyer second hand still register it with elbox, the accept second han registrations are very prompt and helpful witht their replies

Is it possible to attach a wire to pin 39 from a SCSI hard drive (from it's led signal pins to be precise), in order to achieve the same effect as power flyer does?

You are dead on. The above posts where correct for a 40pin IDE connector. Your 1200 has a 44pin one, the other 4 beeing used to power the drive.

Sorry for the ancient topic, but this is relevant for me ATM.

Does this mean the powerflyer will not pass through power to a 2.5" HD?  I'm getting no spin-up however i attach it.

I always has problems with the powerflyer and 2.5inch drives, unfortuntaley, it was so long ago, i cant remember what the solution was.  I seem to recall on my setup, i could only attach a 2.5 inch drive ant nothing else to the powerflyer, have u got the lastest drivers????

...and install them on what?  Seriously, no power to the hard drive from the unit!
S'okay, i'm going the EIDE '99 route.  This one DOES pass through the power, right???
