well, I have this prob with my setup:  :pissed:  :pissed:  :pissed:
I do a fresh install of os3.9 , using  a WD 20GB@5400rpm and a 32x cdrom, both on the fastata 1200... but when I install the fastata driver, and reboot, it just won't load a thing... wtf? I syspeed the HD before applying the driver and I get ~1,3MB/sec , which is lamer than my VOB4x IDE thatgave me on the same disk ~2.6MB/sec ... is there a "special" way to install os3.9 with the fastata? and where is that pin that the little cable goes? It could be placed wrong... can someone post a picture? the german  :pissed: manual doesn't have one... Help!
Oh, I use a RMB tower + ZorroII bus...
Also, are there any newer drivers?

UPDATE: regged fastata with elbox (FAST REPLIES!) and they send me the newest drivers. Now when installed, I get disk checksum error... the only way to boot again, is to use the os3.9 emergency disk, edit the startup file on the HD and disable the fastata driver from loading... after that, all boots fine again... any ideas what's going on?

Did you try contacting Elbox?  Their support is very good and they should have you up and running quickly.

BTW, the latest drive is from July 2004.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

Heh... My internal A4000 HD controller give me about 1.7Mb/s or so... when I was going to copy stuff from my backup HD last weekend I put in a Buddha controller and to my surprice it only gave 1Mb/s. Is there some special drivers for the Buddha to get it up to speed and if so, where can I download them? I'm also interested in drivers for my FastATA4000 controller as it doesn't go above 2Mb/s either witch can't be true max performance for the 13Gb disk connected.
