Fantasy card ---> Apollo PPC
« on: December 15, 2004, 08:33:01 PM »
Hey, this just crossed my mind.

Imagine if ACT had created Apollo PPC cards, similar to Blizzard/Cyberstorm PPC lines.

:-o

I think that the failure rate on those would have made the above-mentioned Phase 5 products even more in demand nowadays, than they already are. :-)

I think there's a Christmas joke in there somewhere.

In a race of computing the value of Pi to 2,000 decimal places... Who'd win?  An Amiga with a functional and stable Apollo accelerator, a BoXeR, or Santa?

ANSWER:  Santa...  The functional and stable Apollo accelerator and the BoXeR are both imaginary.

Yes quite funny but I've an ACT 1240/28MHz and had no problems whatsoever and I ran it for about a year before I got a Blizz060. The accelerator I had problems with was a DCE Blizzard 1230 Mk IV. It eventually died within the warranty and they sent me a second hand Phase 5 1230 to replace it...no problems with that.
