Considered that your setup is little slow to play divx, i´ll suggest you scale down video size  - if you consider that an option...

I have problems with divx too, but when i exchanged
the heatsink of my PPC to a more BIG one, bang, play fine :), well here i used to have 25 C to 35 C, so the temperature in my PPC is a BIG issue., my PPC is overclocked now the default Mhz in my card is 210, of course i overclocked the 68k (040/33Mhz) too and the BUS memory :-D  66Mhz, and i will try a little far with the CPU like 266Mhz to be close or equal to your PPC.

Try AMP. It usually leaves Softcinema coughing in the dust.

@kas1e

You have 64 megs of ram. Can you put the divx file into your ram: drive, and run it from there?

Amiga! Always exploit your ram.

So I guess that A500, 600, 1000, 2000, CDTV, CD32, are pure garbage then? Thanks for posting here.

@Atheist

I used to have 256MB in my BlizzardPPC but a divx movie not fit in 256MB, so this just don't help to much, but when we talk about emulation (NeoMAME) and games (HereticII, Shogo), this helps a lot  :-D .

Lemme get this all straight...

It's possible to view divx movies acceptably using a BlizzardPPC 240Mhz / BVisionPPC ?

Point me in the direction of a suitable player!

Hmmm... scsi drives may be relevant here.
IDE drives use cpu-power (although 68k, but this would cause context switches all the time), whereas scsi drives use no cpu-power (total DMA, so no context switching).

so kas1e: Are you using scsi or ide harddrives/cdrom? this may be the cause of your problem.

yea, i use ide drives. and sysspeed said on drive test:

Create    156
Open       395
DirScan   3468
Delete  84
Seek/Read  1214
Createfile  1.98
WriteFile 2.10
Readfile 1.52
RawRead 1.55

this a sfs and ffs  (result in general analogy). i think
this realy slowly .. ?

p.s. about AMP, i get it, but if i run ':> amp file'
amp said - this a AVI file and exit ;)
